Your Guide to Making the Most of KotlinConf’26

So, you’re coming to KotlinConf’26! Maybe it’s your first time in Munich, or even your first KotlinConf. You’ve got your tickets and studied the schedule — but it can still feel a little overwhelming.

Don’t worry. Here’s a guide to help you make the most of your KotlinConf experience. Because KotlinConf is so much more than just a conference.

1. Explore Munich (Before Things Get Busy)

If you’re arriving early, take some time to explore the city before the conference begins. Munich has incredible food, beautiful neighborhoods, and plenty of places to relax before the schedule fills up.

Not sure where to start? Keep an eye on my social media — I’ll definitely share some tips!

2. Skip the Line — Register Early

Standing in line on the first morning isn’t the best way to start KotlinConf. Instead, register the day before the conference on May 20 between 2:00–5:00 PM.

You’ll avoid long queues, save time, and start Day 1 fresh. Just walk in, grab a coffee, find your seat, and focus on the talks.

3. Start With a Workshop

Want to get even more value from KotlinConf? Start with a full day of hands-on workshops on May 20.

  • Build Shared UI with Compose Multiplatform
  • Deep dive into Kotlin Multiplatform Architecture
  • Master Coroutines and asynchronous programming
  • Build high-performance backends with Spring Boot
  • Create AI agents in Kotlin
  • Refactor toward Functional Kotlin

These workshops are practical, focused, and led by Kotlin experts. Seats are limited, so make sure to secure your spot early.

4. Don’t Miss the Keynote

The opening keynote sets the tone for the entire conference. This is where the biggest ideas are revealed and the future of Kotlin takes shape.

Experiencing it live is something special — don’t miss it.

5. Say Hello (And Let’s Take a Selfie!)

If you spot me around the venue, come over and say hello! Let’s grab a quick selfie, chat between sessions, and talk about what you’re working on.

I always enjoy meeting people from the community.

6. Join the Coding Challenge

Test your skills in our Coding Challenge. Solve interesting problems, learn new approaches, and watch how other developers tackle them.

And if you win — you’ve definitely earned some bragging rights.

7. Explore the Expo

After exploring everything Kotlin, visit the expo area where companies and communities showcase how Kotlin is used in real projects.

Meet engineers, discover new tools, ask questions, and collect some swag for yourself and your teammates back home.

8. Go to the Party

On the evening of May 21, join the KotlinConf party. Put on your favorite outfit (maybe even your dancing shoes) and enjoy a night of music, networking, and great conversations.

9. Wake Up for Day 2

After the party, waking up early might feel difficult — but Day 2 starts with another inspiring keynote at 9:00 AM, where Lena Reinhard will take the stage.

Grab some coffee and start another exciting day of learning.

10. Learn Something New (And Eat Well)

The main reason you’re here is to learn. Explore new tools, ideas, and approaches. Take notes, ask questions, and give yourself time to reflect.

And don’t forget to eat — KotlinConf has plenty of great food to keep you energized.

11. See the Future

Write down your prediction for the future of Kotlin and place it in our time capsule. We’ll open it in 2031 to see who predicted it right.

12. Play Some Games

Relax and try a game built with Compose Multiplatform for the web. You might even win a prize.

13. Attend the Golden Kodee Awards

The Golden Kodee Awards celebrate individuals and communities who contribute to the Kotlin ecosystem.

2026 is special — it’s the very first time these awards will be presented.

14. Take Another Photo

Did I already mention the selfie?

15. Leave Feedback

Vote for the sessions you attended and leave feedback in the conference app. Your feedback helps make the next KotlinConf even better.

16. Mark Your Calendar

Before heading home, mark the dates for next year’s KotlinConf. It’s a small step that ensures you won’t miss it once work gets busy again.

See you next year!
